What Should You Do?

Attend one of the Strike Preparation Meetings
Be ready for the possible strike. See Frequently Asked Questions for some suggestions on financial planning.
Complete a OPSEU Members Personal Information Form (pdf, 92 kb) and return it to the Union Office (North-H109). The form is required for Strike Pay and will provide us with up-to-date contact information. We suggest setting up an outside email account if you don’t have home email.
Lobby the government. Between now and March 7, you can make a difference by e-mailing or telephoning your M.P.P., Dalton McGuinty, or Chris Bentley, Minister of Colleges and Universities. Tell them that the McGuinty liberals will squander the post-secondary good will they want to achieve if they allow college admin to force a province-wide faculty strike rather than addressing our well-documented workload concerns. "Workload and Quality : Skolnik and Rae", by Ted Montgomery does a very good job of documenting the history of workload concerns as reported in the Skolnik (1985) and Rae (2005) reports.
